Road Department

Bethel Township maintains approximately 60 miles of roadways in its unincorporated areas. The team comprises one road supervisor and seven employees who are responsible for maintaining the parks, roads, and buildings. Their hard work ensures that Bethel Township remains well-maintained and attractive.

Projects for 2024:

In the Summer of 2024, Bethel Township is scheduled to carry out road maintenance, including repaving, and chip/seal, for several roads. The specific roads that will undergo maintenance are as follows: The Meadowlawn plat will be chip sealed, Snider Rd. from the bridge to Lower Valley Pike will receive a new layer of asphalt, north Funderburg will undergo edge repairs, Bellows will be resurfaced with new asphalt, Bischoff will be chip sealed, and the entrance to Shawnee Park will receive a new layer of asphalt.

Projects for 2025:

The trustees are currently inspecting the roads to identify those in need of repair. This spring and summer, they will work with the Clark County Engineers to determine which roads will be repaved and which may receive a chip seal treatment.

Additionally, our road department acquired new equipment this fall through ARPA funding. They now have a new arm mower that will allow them to maintain the ditch lines and manage overgrown trees and brush along the roads.

We will keep you informed about the progress of the road situation as soon as the weather permits us to conduct a thorough inspection and cost analysis. Rest assured, we are on top of it.
